Petition drive ends with nearly 160,000 signatures!

Today, the campaign submitted nearly 160,000 total signatures to the Colorado Secretary of State in support of the Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol Act.  Only about 86,000 valid signatures are needed to qualify for the 2012 ballot, all but guaranteeing Coloradans will vote on whether to end marijuana prohibition this November.

A diverse group of more than a dozen women participated in a news conference prior to submitting the signatures to the Colorado Secretary of State.  Among them were prominent Republican and Democratic activists, as well as college students and others from around the state, who discussed why they support the initiative.  The turn-in has been covered extensively by media outlets across Colorado.

Finishing the petition drive is a huge accomplishment and we couldn't have done it without the roughly 500 volunteers and more than 150 businesses that signed on to help collect signatures.  This is not to mention the support of thousands of people throughout Colorado and around the nation.

There is still a lot of work to be done, though, so we are going to need as much help as possible over the next 10 months.  We will soon be reaching out to everyone who has signed up to volunteer for the campaign to let you know how you can start taking action.  If you would like to get involved but have yet to sign up as a volunteer, CLICK HERE to do so today!
