Petition Deadline: We NEED your petitions back by December 1st!

The petition drive is coming down to the wire.  We have 110,000 signatures and we need more as soon as possible if we're going to make it on the ballot.  We need to get petitions from volunteers by the end of the month so we can find out where we stand and can begin preparing to submit them to the state.  Most volunteers have yet to fill or return any petitions, so PLEASE do whatever you can to fill them up, get them notarized, and get them back to us by then.

The FINAL DEADLINE for returning your petitions to the campaign is DECEMBER 1st.  Petitions are still available for those who are collecting signatures immediately and turning them in by this final deadline.

Do NOT throw away or destroy any petitions with signatures -- send them to us even if you think you missed the deadline. State law requires ALL signatures be returned to the campaign.

There are three ways to return your petitions:

1.  Mail them to: Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol, P.O. Box 40332, Denver, CO 80204.  IMPORTANT:  Do not forget to get your petitions notarized!  Contact us if you need help finding a notary in your area (your bank will usually do it for free).  Petitions will not count unless they are notarized.

2.  Drop them off at the campaign office: 1177 Grant Street, Denver.  Call us at 303-861-0033 or e-mail us to set up a time to come in and make sure someone is available.  We can notarize your petitions here!

UPDATE: Get Paid $1 per Signature

The issue committee overseeing the petition drive is now offering volunteers and supporters an increased incentive of $1 per signature for every signature collected between now and the end of October. It literally wants to give away money and hopes that you will get out there, support the cause, and make some cash for good measure.

All you need to do is:

1. Alter your petitioner badge or make a new one so it reads "Paid Circulator" instead of "Volunteer Circulator," and add "Coalition to End Marijuana Prohibition," if it isn't already on there.

2. Upon submitting your signatures, let us know that you would like to be paid and we'll send you a check.  You will get $1 for every signature from a Colorado registered voter (be sure to ask!) dated between October 11th and October 31st.
