Campaign submits 14,000+ additional signatures and needs just 2,400 valid

On Friday, February 17, the campaign submitted more than 14,000 additional signatures to cure its petition to place a measure on the November ballot. Just over 2,400 additional valid signatures are needed and the Secretary of State has until February 27th to confirm the sufficiency of the petition.

Prior to submitting the signatures, the campaign held a news conference at which the initiative was endorsed by former two-term Republican governor of New Mexico Gary Johnson, who endorsed the initiative and discussed why he supports ending marijuana prohibition and regulating it like alcohol. The event generated strong news coverage, including a live interview with campaign co-director Mason Tvert on Denver's NBC affiliate, and stories on the local Fox and NBC affiliates.  It was also covered by the Denver Post, Westword, and the Huffington Post, and a piece by the Associated Press was published by news sources throughout the state.
